In 2002 a small group of producers, community-based supporters, and West Virginia University Davis College representatives formed an advisory board with a goal of establishing a reliable Market that would encourage local farmers to supply quality, home-grown produce that would attract customers consistently week after week.
This initial Market was fairly different from the current Morgantown Farmers Market that we know and love. It originally ran from 7:30-11:30AM at the Seneca Center and only had a few vendors.
Today we have met our orginal goal, as a diverse collection of more than 40 vendors bringing the freshest produce, meats, eggs, breads, and more to the Morgantown community.
